He also worked very smoothly with our wedding coordinator (as well as all of our other vendors).

As for the day of, he made sure the dance floor was packed by reading the room and changing up the music genres based on what people liked. We just gave him generic genres (pop, old-school hip hop) that people in our age group might like and he ran with it.

Also he does lights. The lights for dinner were gorgeous and they transform into dance lighting once dancing starts.

Also also, his prices for dj + mc + lighting were very reasonable. We compared with several other djs.

Sophia as our bilingual MC (English/Mandarin) was perfect. My family told me she was their favorite part of the wedding, and she live translated the entire ceremony and speeches, which was amazing. She really made my Chinese guests feel like they were a very included part of the wedding. Sophia is also an officiant herself, although we had our own. He's a wedding planning extraordinaire and he even offers officiant, photobooth, and lighting services. While we were trying to coordinate our wedding from out of state, he was very responsive and always willing to hop on a Zoom call no matter how busy he was. He was also just as communicative when working together with our wedding coordinator.

We brainstormed some unique and creative game ideas for the wedding reception, and he led the games and made them fun (and funny!) on the wedding day. He was one of the first vendors present and set up so fast between ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. I really love how he mixed our music and kept up the positive energy throughout the wedding. He did such a nice job with the wedding announcement and speeches, making sure to check on name pronunciations beforehand, and he even wore our wedding colors!

I've been to plenty of weddings where it sounds like a playlist is playing, but James wove through our playlists with perfect transitions and had a great eye for what should be played at different times throughout the night. At one point I wanted to get a drink from the bar but James kept playing my favorites and I couldn't bring myself to stop dancing! Finally after about 3-4 songs of this, I had to tell James I wanted to grab a drink so he played a filler song to let us get refills before bringing back the party to the dance floor.   My husband, Miguel and I, had James Lee DJ and MC our wedding in April of 2024. Although, I have seen James DJ at four family weddings, my husband had... read more never seen James before. My husband and I interviewed a couple of DJ's before James. After our interview my husband said his first impression of James was that he was very professional, competent and very knowledgeable about his craft. My husband said the minute James shared his screen with us and showed us how he organizes the day-of, he knew James was going to be our DJ.

We signed the agreement with James that day, and made an initial payment. I essentially planned our entire wedding; however, James really helped us think about so many different considerations that we would not have thought about. He really removed the burden of having to create our own day-of timeline. At the wedding, James worked with our coordinator to make sure our day ran smoothly and on schedule. This was not an easy task since we had 330 guests. He helped control the crowd, and kept the overall vibe of the wedding positive and energetic.

My husband is Mexican-American and I am Japanese-American and it was important to us to have someone who would be respectful towards both cultures, so we really appreciated James taking the time to correctly pronounce our bridesmaids and groomsmen's names. Prior to the wedding, we gave James only general vision of the music we wanted to hear that night. He more than delivered by playing music that was appropriate for all generations, sensitive to both cultures, and overall played music that everyone enjoyed and also nailed it on the Spanish music. He told me "Alexander, I am the owner and will personally handle the night" and James was friendly and super easy to work with, he made it easy for people to want to come up and made everyone feel like it was there chance to be a star. James' package offers and rates are amazing for the service he can provide. James was playing all the right kinds of buffer music before we started karaoke and really helped keep the good vibrations.
